Sept 2022 brought a familiar Peckham pattern: one housemate moving toward a new job, another arriving with a rucksack and a plant. The clergy house on Chandler Way is small, so a changeover is felt in every corridor.

We spent a Saturday emptying cupboards, labelling kitchen shelves, and opening windows onto the estate. Visitor rooms that had hosted weekend guests were stripped and reset so the next let did not inherit someone else's dust.

A house that prays together still needs ordinary logistics. Keys, laundry, and a clean floor are part of the same hospitality we talk about on Sundays.
