4 Oct 2019: open table and borrowed rooms

On 4 Oct 2019 the Tuesday community meal ran long. Extra tables came out of the vestry, and two side rooms that usually stay quiet were used for coats, pushchairs, and a late conversation about housing on the estate.

The next morning those rooms looked like a village hall after a jumble sale. We swept, wiped, and put the chairs back so weekday prayer could start without negotiating leftover plates.

Borrowed rooms and short lets around St Luke's ask the same thing of us: leave the space kinder than you found it. That is as true for a festival supper as it is for someone handing back keys on SE15.
